Continued poor service by Barnard Marcus

Avoid Barnard Marcus! I have already written a review of their dismal service in 2019. Issues were then eventually resolved but it took months of emails and phonecalls. The saga continues. As landlord I agreed to extend the tenants lease for a further 12 months at no rent increase. Barnard Marcus charged me the full finder's fee again as well as the monthly management fee. I took this up with the Property Ombudsman to no avail. The Barnard Marcus contract charges the full fee whether they find the tenant or not!! What!!??? So I gave them notice. I received a notification saying the contract ended mid February this year, and as directed by them made arrangements to take over the management, arranged for tenant to pay me directly and organised my own Rent and Legal Insurance Policy. Come end of Feb/beginning of March their accounts department carries on charging me as if nothing changed and worse, sent letter of demand to the tenant. The problem with this company is that Barnard Marcus is part of the Connels Group which includes Sequence Homes and ACS London accounting firm. And they simply do not speak to each other with the result that no ones has a clue what they are doing. All I can say is just dont touch them. Absolute nightmare to work with.
