Barn Found Classics restored my Landie to an immaculate condition after my insurance company tried to write it off

Newly arrived from Cape Town with my Land Rover Puma 2007, I was a bit lost and horrified when my Landie was hit at a 4-way stop and then veered into a tree on the side of the road. My horror turned to abject panic when the vehicle was written off by the insurance company and towed far into the bowels of inner city Joburg, without my knowledge, to a salvage yard in Selby. The damage seemed to be mostly bodywork with only the slightest mechanical damage.

Feeling like nobody was fighting my corner, it is moments like randomly stumbling across the father-son team at the Landy Net and Barn Found Classics (on social media) that makes one believe that there might be a Higher Power out there in the universe!

From the moment I towed the vehicle to their workshop, they not only dealt professionally and clinically with the insurance company, demonstrating quickly and with overwhelming evidence that the damage was way less than the insurance company’s own estimates, but also set about fixing the vehicle with the dedication and commitment that only true Land Rover enthusiasts could.

At every stage of the way they kept me perfectly informed. And when the vehicle was returned, it was almost unrecognisable. Close to new. Their assessment of the minimal mechanical damage was spot on and accurate.

As many Land Rover enthusiasts will know. The mechanic you find must not just be competent. They must understand your own love and passion for the vehicle. In Reagan and Dudley, I am ecstatic to have found two people that understand that intimately.

I will be forever grateful for their patience and assistance in what was an ordeal from hell in a very trying month. They have made me into a client-for-life.
