Poor service delivery & worst engraving

Dear Barksole,

My email is in respect of the franchise at Canal Walk.

It is with utter disgrace and dissapointment that I have to address the email to you.

Events:

My finace' bought me a set of Parker Pens - note, a set, during MAY/JUNE 2016 and had it engraved at the relevant store.

The product was handed in at the above store and was to be engraved for quite an important occassion - my formal admission as an attorney.

The engraving was simple - name, date and admission. The gift was obviously meant to be ready on the given date of 3 June 2016.

Much to dismay, he was advised upon collection that the machine had broken and that they only managed to do half of the pen - 3 letters, and a shabby work on the pencil.

The said engraving was illegible, skew and ********** to say the least.

Nonetheless het gave it to me on the day of celebration as it marked 8yrs of hard work for me and the set was of personal value to me and would be for many yrs to come.

He took the set back as requested somewhat 2 weeks after, to be finished. Machine not surpisingly, not ready yet.

Again after another week - same story. This time, only to find the person doing the engraving was not there / in.

Needless to say, no other barksole was able to rectify / assist as the specific text type was not readily available.

In short, more than one trip later, and finally in Nov I got my set back. Horrified and shocked.

The engraving on the pen and pencil differred iN colour and text, the one of which you cant even read the engraving. The engraving overlaps over the old poor attempt, and the work is done so skew that even I could have done a better job with a KoKie pen.

I am shocked, disgusted and utterly dissapointed in what I have. I was furious to the point where it broke my heart to think - someone chose a gift for me, so special and so dear, with thought and love and a idea in mind of what the end result would be, and here it was handled with unproffessional, lazy and ******** care. It broke my heart-not to mention what my fiance felt like. The total worth of that set was nearly R2000, and engraving R700 nearly.

Now my question is, how does one justify this ?

I contacted the manager - who at first was responsive and helpful. He was to speak to the owner and the agreement would be made that a new set would be bought, and engraved for me. This I was fine with. He kept advising he would get back to me as he is waiting for suppliers etc - to this day and after numerous follow ups, NOTHING !!

I am all for trying to fix a priblem or rectify a issue, but this - its been a total disgust towards Barksole and how little care they have for a service the offer so openly and willingly.

I feel so distraught and furious that honestly - no legal steps would be too small for me. But I tried to settle the matter amicably as one naturally would. Giving the benefit of the doubt and offering respect nonetheless.

The limit has been reached and I am now fed up and disgusted at this **** service we got. All I honestly feel like saying - and with all due respect, is " Thanks Barksole, for f*cking up something that should have been a tremendously special gift & thank you for indicating that after giving you the benefit of the doubt - you still f*cked up".

I am at wits end and I would definitelt never ever reccommend you to anyone, nor make use of the servuce you offer. Its a crock of ****.

I dont offer a service I cant perform, and I sure dont offer someone a rectification and then sweep it under the carpet , in hopes that it will dissapear.

I really wish this was not necessarry but surely its quite understandable at this point in time.

I welcome any feedback, negative or positive.

Regards,

Laetitia
