BARIETA COTTAGES HOLIDAY ACCOMMODATION BAD EXPERIENCE

My daughter and I were seeking "Pet friendly" holiday accommodation. We were exited to find Barieta Cottages in Mtwalume on the South Coast of KZN. Marieta, the owner confirmed that they are pet friendly. When we arrived at Barieta Cottages, the cottage was not fenced at all. The next day we went out to run a few errands . Due to the cottage not fenced and to keep our dogs safe, we left them locked inside the cottage, because we had no other choice. While going about doing our business, Marieta phoned me to find out if we were at the cottage. She complained that our dogs were barking and we are not allowed to leave the dogs unattended. I was so upset about the situation, that we were mislead by her "so called" Pet friendly accommodation. I immediately contacted other Pet friendly accommodation to seek a remedy, to allow us to enjoy our holiday. I contacted Marieta the same afternoon and informed her that we have found alternative Pet friendly accommodation and was moving out, because her accommodation was not Pet friendly as indicated. She told me that it was not necessary to leave…….. It was impossible for us to stay at Barieta Cottages, seeing that we were bound to stay at the cottage to look after our dogs, or alternatively the dogs had to accompany us everywhere we went, which was impossible and ridiculous. That was not what we had in mind when we were making arrangements to treat our pets and ourselves to a sea vacation. Needless to say, we had to pay for the alternative accommodation. After requesting Marieta to refund our money, Marieta refused to pay any money back to us.
