Inferior quality, unacceptable returns policy & deceptive marketing tactics

The durability and quality of the Barestep shoes are highly concerning, and not up to scratch as they claim. After washing my shoes, one shoe of the pair shrunk considerably, showed signs of loose glue, and became obsolete to wear.

After contacting Barestep, they refused to take responsibility for the poor quality of the one shoe, and was only willing to offer a voucher of an undisclosed amount to purchase a "replacement pair"- not very transparent at all. Only after quoting the South African Consumer Protection Act TWICE (regarding expected quality and refund or replacement of defective goods) did they send me a replacement pair. Note that their official refund policy is also contradictory to the South African Consumer Protection Act.

In addition, Barestep uses deceptive digital marketing tactics by advertising a 24 hour sales that always magically resets every day to another 24 hour sale, creating a feeling of scarcity and tricking people to purchase immediately.

I will not recommend Barestep to anyone.
