Barestep - from brilliant to bad in one act.

Barestep started out as a fantastic experience. I loved the product and the customer service was brilliant. So much so that after buying my first pair, I bought a second pair (Barestep 2.0) on the day they launched (only 3 months after my first purchase. I also then bought a pair of their hiking boots a month later. I gave them glowing reviews and encouraged friends to check them out. Then there was a problem - my original pair started to split along the outside of the foot, on both shoes. This was after having them for 5 months, so was certainly not what I expected. I would have expected a running shoe to last substantially longer than that. I contacted them, and after them being highly responsive previously, had to reach out 3 times, over 3 weeks before I got a response. Their response, was not concern over the quality but rather to offer me 20% off a new pair. I explained that I already had 3 pairs, so what was their warranty/or policy regarding manufacturing defects...and nothing. So Barestep, from a massive fan and advocate, you now have lost a customer, and I will be sure to tell everyone to avoid you at all costs. PS: I am now just waiting for the second pair to fall apart.
