Barestep - BUYER BEWARE

I was one of those drawn in by the inspiring story about Barestep a South African business. Well - I ordered a pair of shoes 4 weeks before planned travel. Was assured that delivery was 7-10 days. No delivery. Followed up, still nothing. At 4 weeks I asked for a refund, was promised one. At the appointed time having received no refund I followed up. Got a very professional looking email with a template from a cam system showing my refund. Promising....... NOT So I proceeded to my bank to ask for their assistance. A matter for another day. A week into my trip having been assured that the credit was on its way I received an SMS to say the shoes were being delivered the next day. Well they did materialise BUT..... I found the same shoes on another website for $6.75. Ordered and shipped and landed AND dutied for R350 a pair. No more to be said. You judge for yourself whether you feel they are ethical and whether you want to support them.
