Practices Illogical Idiotic Policicies

I have an International Bank Account with Barclays on the Isle of Man, one of the requirements of which is a maintaining a minimum balance of £25000. However when all I wanted to do was add my wife as a joint account holder, the goalpost was moved and now the minimum balance has jumped to £100000. Why? All because she was born in Iran 70 years ago of British parentage, of parents working for British Organisations, registered in the British Consulate and spent less than 18 months there. Now she is stereotyped for being in the wrong place at the wrong time and is considered a security risk.
