Legitimate brokerage - Questionable morals
Banxso is a legitimate brokerage platform in my experience. Deposits and withdrawals were relatively straightforward. My assigned success manager, based in Greece, was friendly and responsive via email, though direct phone communication wasn't available.
However, I strongly advise anyone considering retail leveraged margin trading to proceed with caution and ensure the following: 1. Solid trading knowledge and thorough practice on a demo account. 2. Sufficient starting capital (around $25,000 or more) for a higher account tier to avoid substantial commission and swap fees. Sustaining trades for multiple days with lower fees is crucial. 3. Full awareness of the significant risk of losing your entire investment. 4. Strong resilience to overtly persuasive pressure from the advisors requesting one to add funds beyond your means.
I was new to trading when I started with Banxso, which I made clear from the outset and I declined numerous times via email and phone calls, explaining that I only clicked on "More info" button on their website as an impulse after having been redirected to their page from an article I read relating to AI trading bots. I declined in email and telephonically several times, before eventually deciding to deposit the initial $250.00 they told me I needed to invest. I thought to myself that I could wager that amount without being bothered if I lost it.
That was when the my success manager and other "Top traders" on the Banxso team started contacting me from Greece, asking me to invest much more money than I was willing to. I was very clear with them about my limited capital and the need for me to take out a loan in order to get that kind of money. Despite this, the Banxso team were persistent, calling me daily and eventually convinced me to take a R200,000 loan, which ultimately contributed to my negative experience.
It's important to note that my manager was pleasant and responsive. I felt a sense of trust, which in retrospect may have been influenced by their sales tactics. This trust unfortunately led me to over-rely on their guidance, despite my own reservations.
Initially, I made small, mostly profitable trades. However, with persistent encouragement from the Banxso team, I took on additional loans to maintain a long-held position I wanted to close. Despite repeated requests to exit the XRP trade they recommended, and their assurances of a market turnaround and potential losses, I eventually allowed the trade to liquidate my entire account.
While I take full responsibility for my financial decisions, I feel compelled to share my experience. My goal is to inform potential investors about the realities of retail forex trading, the importance of financial awareness and risk management, and the potential for overreliance on broker advice.
Trading, especially with borrowed capital, is a high-risk venture. If you lack experience, financial stability, or the ability to withstand significant losses, I urge you to explore alternative ways to generate income with lower risk profiles.
Treat this as a learning experience. Knowledge is power, and making informed decisions is key to responsible investing.
