Beware of Investments Around 7 months ago I ventured out into the Investment World for the very first time,unsure,dubious,but,inquisitive how this all works. So, I am on YouTube and I watch a talk Elon Musk gave saying that they have invented an algorithm where You invest R 4700-00 and forget about it.I call the contact number and go through the process of depositing the cash into an account. I receive a call from someone called Giannis who promised to teach me to trade. I opened the account depositing R5000. On his advise I invested the money in different platforms or equities. What ever it is called. I new nothing about trading and trusted him to lead me the right way as he promissed. I explained to the caller that I am a pensioner in the process of buying a small house for my daughter and I and that I need funds to put down a deposit. There was a timeline for this as the transfer attorney awaited the money. The initial trade was full of ups and downs, so he suggested that I pay a bigger amount in order to receive a much bigger pay out in a shorter time. I deposited around R90 000. And then he disappeared. Could not get hold of him via phone or e mail. Meanwhile my money reduced at an alarming speed and my stress levers shot through the roof. I could not sign onto the app. It was a weekend and I could not get hold of anyone. By the time I could get hold of someone in their so called call centre the balance in my account was just over R9000. They advised me that I can withdraw the money which was a long and frustrating process. And received a call again from another so called expert broker. He emotionally attacked me. Asking me if I am just going to sit back and lose all that money by not trying to invest more to increase my chances of getting better returns. At some stage he even told me that my account was blocked and that I cannot withdraw. I must invest more money to release the account to be able to trade. He *********ed me emotionally. By the end of that conversation I was in years, my daughter upset. And I had no money at all to even buy food or petrol. We have been struggling since Feb this year just to make ends meet. And repay all the debt caused by this. I need a full investigation into this and my money returned. I am a pensioner and an emotional wreck after all this
