Useless Medical Scheme : CPAP Machine

So, while seeing my Dr for my thyroid issue, I asked him whether he could refer me to someone/do some bloods or something to find out why I am so exhausted, fatigued with no energy. In fact, I can sleep 8-10hrs, wake up in the morning and still pass out sitting up, I was even caught at work for falling asleep in a meeting. The Dr proceeded to ask me a bunch of questions and asked me to contact a sleep clinic. I went for 2 sets of tests amounting to nearly 4k, which Bankmed paid for happily . This came out of a hospital benefit. The results showed that I have Obstructive Sleep Apnea(OSA), and I have an event 109 times per hour. A severe amount is considered more than 30 times an hr. I am 3.5times this allowance. This means that 109 times an hr my body stops taking in air. So after all the tests were said and done, and I have a diagnosis, I was told I need to get a CPAP machine which is where all the B@#l**** started.

I spoke to Molibongwe, who informed me that I am entitled to 6100 to 8950 under appliance to asssit me, and I just need to get 3 quotes (avg 15k), which I subsequently obtained. Thereafter, I am asked for rental quotes which most companies are not doing. Evenutally I found a company renting them for R3950 which is all the medical approved. I called in, to say that I want to purchase the machine, I am prepared to fit the balance out of my pocket, Bankmed now insists that I must rent the machine first for 3 months, when queried, no that is the rule, we need a compliance report, which I asked is for? to which I receive the response to ensure I am using the machine. At the end of 3 months, THEY WILL decide whether they willing to help me purchase obviously which comes out of the 8950. So I challenged them, you are basically saying this is a paper eexercise, if that is the case give me the ranges, if I am 100% compliant how much will I get? if I am 75% etc etc? no they dont know, the other team will need to decide how much I will get. Tara(Bankmed) says 90% of people feel better after 3 months, which I assume they would considering they now have air going through their system you idiot. Ok, so if you guys dont feel I need the machine DESPITE the diagnosis, say my symptoms come back, well then I repeat all the tests. How clever Bankmed.

You DONT know how to handle a new illness, so you choose to stonewall customers whereby I must keep asking for rentals. Guys 3950x4 = 15800 (8950 from appliance and the balance from my savings ANNUALLY), cost of new machine is 14800 less the 8950 (Bankmed Cost) = 5850 out of my pocket and remember these machines come with warrenties. My brother has had one for nearly 5 years. Say you help me buy it now and it works fine for 3 years, thats 2 years worth of financial savings for you guys on appliances(17900) AND you dont EAT INTO my savings... WIN WIN.. how can you LOGICALLY deny math you idiots.... So disgusted by the LACK of support from Bankmed... I am now trying to see how I can afford to pay for this myself, and in the new year I will look for a new Medical Aid. Why pay over 60k an annum to a bunch of *****s... rather save myself coz you dont give a ****. You would rather I become sick, ill and then pay the 10's of thousands in hospital care/chronic meds.. well done!!!!!
