Useless Medical aid
Bankmed is the most useless medical aid. I was refered to a louis pasture hospital by my daughter doctor. Only to returned by the hospitaal because is not their network. People must die because the hospital near them when they sick not on their network. How can a sick person run around looking for a hospitaal on their network. The reason we pay medical aids is that we dont want pay care payments.

We are sorry to hear of your frustration regarding this.
In a case where you have chosen a specific plan, where network hospitals and providers are applicable, you would need to make use of the specific providers applicable to your plan in order for your admission treatment to be covered, upon authorisation.
For planned admissions, you must make use of the specific network hospitals applicable to your plan, and get authorisation before you are admitted to hospital
In a medical emergency, you may go straight to the nearest hospital. If you are admitted to hospital in case of an emergency, please contact us for authorization within 48 hours.
You may contact us to obtain authorisation for admission by:
- Calling 0800 BANKMED (***3) or - Sending an e-mail to *** or - Sending a fax to ***
Regards,
The Bankmed Service Team.
