They just don't care

<p>I joined Bankmed in 2011 as I had to due working in a bank. In August 2015 I had a car accident afer which I have been required to go for physio on an ogoing basis. Whilst Bankmed was under administration from Momentum, I app**** for a ex-gratia request where the process was easy and people where helpful. They reimbused me for around R8000 which I spent over August - October 2015. Since I have still been undergoing treatment, I app**** for a ex-gratia request in July to cover October 2015 to July 2016 to which I was assisted by Michelle Mc Culloch. They requested further information to which I provided to the best of my ablility. I first followed up in August whereby she explained that this is request is a "favour" and they would be in touch. I received no further communications from Bankmed until I followed up In November when I resigned from my company. Michelle then responded that all the documentation was not received and that the cutoff date to get all information was 12:00pm on that same day. Thereafter when I responded to say that I requested it months ago and when I kept following up there was no responses or guidance, to which she responded since I am no longer part of Bankmed that they cannot procced.</p> <p> </p> <p>This is absolutely ridicouls. Financially I am not well off and I am struggling to pay for physio and le alone my own current expenses due to teh financial setback of the accident. Since the accident, I have spent around R40k on treatment, of which R8k was reimbursed by the request in 2015 and some paid from my savings. I incurred these costs while I was on Bankmed and I think it is ridiculous that Michelle did not bother to do her job and assist me in any which way from the time I submitted in July to when i did the final follow up.</p> <p> </p> <p>Banks need to give employees other medical aid options.</p>
