Membership no ***

19 Jan 2016 i went to the Optometrist, BAnkmed could not pay the service provider as it had system issues according to them, eventually the claim was paid out in March. R2454 from our savings which we then paid the Optometrist the very next day i think 21 March and R790 which PPN paid the Optometrist early in March. Yet every other statement we receive this claim is under the coloumn "claims not paid" the most recent statement dd 27 May 2016 statement no 8 it reflects again under claims not paid. i spoke to someone 27 May REF *** and requested if this could not reflect in every statement and he advised that he would refer this to the systems dept and phone me back on Tues which was yday. he didnt. So i phoned Bankmed today and was advised that this will appear on every statement for the rest of the year even though the claim was paid and the funds taken from our medical savings account and the diff paid from PPN. Can you please advise if this will eventually fall off the statment next year 2017 or will this continue? Why cannot Bankmed make sure that the statements we receive are correct or is it a system problem?

On 11 May our daughter went for blood tests and BAnkmed advised when i phoned them that they hadnt received the electronic claim that was sent by Pathcare on 16 May 2016 so i e mailed them a copy and Pathcare resent the claim. i then sent Bankmed an email and phoned them and advised that there was a duplication. i then received an answer to my email stating that Bankmed had received 3 claims. they paid the first , reversed the 2nd for duplication and paid the 3rd, which a portion was taken from the insured, another amount from the savings and the diff i was told to pay. I phoned BAnkmed 30 May and spoke to Thango REF *** who advised that i must complete a form for Bankmed to reverse a valid payment. so i Bankmed 31 May and spoke to Jodi Bailey and asked why we must complete a form to reverse it if Bankmed should have picked up that this claim was the exact same as the other 2 with the same service date 11 May2016 same member and same codes and same amount of R719.10 and not a valid claim. Jodi said he would sort it out and he phoned me back to advise that the last payment was reversed today. why does Bankmed not check the claims and see that it was the same 3 sent thereby causing all this unnecessary work?

Not happy with call (Friday @ 15.47) and I had to explain everything again. The person that phoned me didn't have all his facts correct. I spoke to Nomonde Ref *** on Friday at 11.15 who assisted me with finding out why claim keeps reprocessing and appearing under "claims not paid" even though it was paid 2 March 2016 R2454 from savings and R790 from PPN end of February 2016. The reason she gave me for it reprocessing is that when I queried why claim was initially rejected with code 772 after it was paid was that the person taking the call esculated claim thereby causing claim to be reprocessed again?????????,?
