Poor Service

Had to be admitted to hospital in Jan for a procedure. When I obtained my pre-authorisation I was informed that a co-payment of R500 was payable, but I could claim this back from my Savings account as long as I obtained a receipt from the hospital. I dis this and submitted my claim to Bankmed on 10/02. Followed up today as no pmt had been recieved, only to be told that the claim had been rejected because no ICD code was on invoice. I will have to go back to hospital to obtain. This raises two questions: 1) Bankmed already posesses all the info regarding the hospitalisation and informed me of the co-payment, why do they need an ICD code for what is clearly a co-payment (I also stated it was for a co-pmt in my submitted claim). 2) This money will be re-imbursed to me from MY SAVINGS account. They have my banking details, they can see the payment is to the same hospital pre-authorised to do a procedure and the payment is on the same day as the procedure. WHY ALL THE RED TAPE? I am essentially asking them to pay me MY OWN MONEY. Further, why do you expect your members to do your own admin for you. ....
