Pathetic Useless Medical Aid

I am on Bankmed - ***. I fell sick whilst on vacation and returned to Gauteng on Monday. On Tuesday I felt it best to consult a Dr, which thank God, Bankmed did pay for the consultation - whoop whoop - so they at least used 25% of my monthly contribution - thank you Bankmed. I was in Graskop on vacation and my symptoms was that of COVID and Swine Flu, and therefore the Dr deemed to have me tested for this. I was sent to the Pathcare Lab, where the lady noted that this test would be covered by the medical aid (clearly she is not fami**** with Bankmed - because I am sure most better quality Medical Aids do), seeing that I did have all the symptoms. Test results came back AND I TESTED POSITIVE FOR SWINE FLU. Got my statement this morning from Bankmed notifying me that they will not foot the bill because I did not get preauthorization to get tested for these two highly contagious viruses, of which I tested positive for. How is this possible. How do they make decisions on such matters if they clearly do not know what an illness entail. Do they have no idea how physically sick a person feels with these type of viruses. Do they think we all just want to go and hang around in Clinics looking for attention. So I should have rather just stayed at home, infect everyone a came in contact with, gone back to work and infected all my colleagues. How can a medical aid simply reject a test if they do not even know the outcome. Further, they did not cover any medication and I also had to foot the bill for this. The total of the medication was R348.81. A week prior to my trip I had to go to the dentist to have my left front cap recemented and I paid R700 for this - i can provide all the proof of payments for the above.

Thus in total, with being a member, my medical costs amounted to R2317.41 - how wonderful is this. AND NO, MY PLAN IS NOT A HOSPITAL PLAN - OR SO THEY SAY.

PATHETIC INDEED.

God forbid you ever encounter Bankmed. You are much better off just dying instead of having to foot the bills for all the medical costs they do not cover. I have been working for 30 years and by far are they the worst Medical Aid ever !!!!!!!!!
