Paediatrician Visit
My baby has a scheduled appointment with the paediatrician tomorrow, I phoned the medical aid to obtain a preauthorization, I was advised that I need a GP referral letter. I have never been to a GP with the baby since birth, so I don't have a referral letter. This is a doctor who attended the baby at birth, after the 6 weeks follow up with the baby, the doctor asked me to come back when the baby is 4 months. Last year I used to go to a gynaecologist without a referral letter, and all the claims were paid, what's changed now? This is not a referral, are you telling me I can't go to see the paediatrician because of a stupid referral letter? Which doctor would just give me a referral letter? If I go to a GP to get a referral letter, that means you will pay double, for the GP and Specialist<br>
