Because of Bankmed , I am stuck with an unnecessary medical bill. I was admitted to a Netcare hospital for an emergency . I chose the netcare hospital specifically because I was advised that The Netcare Hospitals are part of Bankmed's network. I was admitted and had an emergency procedure done . Only to find a few moths later after my recovery I get a call stating that owe the Dr almost R3000. I called Bankmed and to my utmost shock was advised that yes the hospital was paid for in full but because the doctor is not part of the network he wasn't. How am I as a patient in an emergency supposed to ask a doctor if they are part of the Bankmed Net work and if they charge accordingly. Why must one pay monthly fees only to be in debt at the end of the day especially with the option im on. I'm really not happy with the service received.
