From the hippocratic oath to being hypocrites

Financially I had to move down to Basic from Comprehensive 2 years ago and my view of medical aids have gone from little use to useless. Other than paying for selected GPs that must be on their approved list almost every thing else I have to pay for myself, why the hell have a medical aid if they don't pay for anything - yes - you're right "what if you had to go to hospital?" That is why we pay for medical aids, fear, fear of the "what if ... hospital ..." with it's exorbitant (unnecessarily so) costs, created by doctors that charge thousand for 30 minutes to drive fancy cars, buy fancy homes ... ag my rant can go on and on. So my wife and I tested positive for Covid got a script of about 13 different meds to take. Guess how much of that Bankmed paid for ... yes, NOTHING, not a thing!!! You know what, my mother had to go to a state hospital and she got better treatment there than those of us get that cannot afford the highest tiers of medical aid plans. Thousands every month for nothing. I have chronic medication for a mild form of Epilepsy, and of the 2 products I need to take they only pay for 1 ... heavens know, I take little comfort in the "at least if I had to go to hospital" cry, because truth is, I'll probably be shocked by what they actually do end up paying for leaving me to pick up the bill for the rest. From the "hippocratic oath" to being hypocrites ... what heros our kids get to look up to ...
