Extremely Disappointed – Denied Emergency Medical Treatment

I am shocked and deeply disappointed with Bankmed Medical Aid. I required an emergency wisdom tooth extraction due to severe pain, swelling, and infection , a situation that any reasonable person would consider urgent. On saturday i booked a denstist visit and the dentist gave me a referral letter to go see an Oral surgeon based on the severity. Despite this being a clear medical emergency, my request for treatment was declined.

This is unacceptable for a medical aid provider that claims to prioritize the health and wellbeing of its members. When you’re in unbearable pain and urgently need help, the last thing you expect is to be told your suffering doesn’t qualify for coverage.
