Double check any claims you make

Spouse visits the dentist, dentist adds wrong dependant details to statement, they submit and Bankmed pays. I call them to confirm what should be done as claim was paid out of my insured benefit. they say the dentist must send an amended statement. Dentist gives me the amended statement which I send to Bankmed saying HERE IS THE AMENDED STATEMENT AS PER YOUR REQUEST. What do they do? They pay this one too even though statement no, treatment codes and dates are EXACTLY the same as the previous one. Now they tell ME to APPLY to reverse THEIR MISTAKE.<br> <br> Not related to the above, last year I was on chronic which they were paying out of my MSA, so I asked the doctor to give me a script for the meds they will cover. This year I get a letter saying the original medicines are covered. So why was everything getting paid from my savings? I dont know and neither do they. <br> <br> So if you are on Bankmed I suggest you double check everything you send them and everything they pay out. And keep statements of everything too. Pity we do not have a choice when it comes to medical aids as Bankmed certainly sucks.
