CHANGE OF PLAN

ON THE 04/01/2016 I TOOK MY DAUGHTER FOR A DENTAL CHECK UP, I WAS KEPT IN LINE FOR 4HOURS DUE TO BANKMED HAD NOT UPDATED MY DETAILS FROM CORE TO TRADITIONAL AND ON THE SYSTEM IT REFLECTED THAT I AM ON CORE WITH NO FUNDS. I WAS SENT FROM PILLAR TO POST TRYING TO RESOLVE THE MATTER UNTIL MY KIND DOCTOR DECIDED HE'LL DO THE PROCEDURE AND SHALL CLAIM LATER ONCE ALL HAS BEEN SORTED WITH THE MEDICAL AID. ON THE 05/01/2016 I CALLED BANKMED REQUESTING AN OPTION FROM TRADITIONAL TO CORE AS I AM PAYING WAY TOO MUCH TO BE TREADED IN THIS WAY, I WAS NOTIFIED IT WILL BE DONE AND NO RESPONSE WAS GIVEN. ON THE 25/01/2016 I CALLED BANKMED AGAIN FOR AN UPDATE AND I WAS TOLD I AM ON CORE SINCE 01/01/2016 BUT THE PREMIUMS CHARGED WERE FOR TRADITIONAL AND NOW BANKMED HAS PUT ME ON A HIGHER INCOME BRACKET THAN THE ONE I WAS ON. DESPITE SENDING THEM MY SALARY STATEMENT I HAVE NOT HEARD OR RECEIVED ANY COMMUNICATION FROM BANKMED. EVEN NOW WHEN I COMMUNICATE WITH MY HR DEPARTMENT THEY STILL HAVE ME ON TRADITIONAL AS BANKMED HAS NOT SENT THEM ANYTHING CONFIRMING MY PLAN CHANGE. IF IT WEREN'T COMPULSARY TO BE ON BANKMED I'D DEFINITELY CANCEL THIS MEDICAL AID AND FIND ONE THAT WOULD UNDRSTAND MY NEEDS.

Hello MashaT01,

Thank you for your comment.

We've confirmed that your plan was changed on 22 January 2016 as requested. The plan change was effected from 1 January 2016 however due to the fact that the billing statement was already sent to the employer before the plan was changed, the higher plan's contribution was taken. An updated statement has been sent to your employer with the positive balance for the difference between the plans.

As discussed, the income band is calculated based on your gross monthly income. Based on the information we received, you have been placed on the correct income band. This process has not changed from last year.

Please do not hesitate to contact us on 0800 BANKMED (***3) or email *** should you require any further assistance.

Regards
Annelize
