BANKMED - WITHHOLDING CHRONIC MEDICATION

Clearly it appears that Bankmed no longer have concern for members or wish to retain them, my plan was amended earlier this year.

There is chronic medication that is an absolute necessity which they are apparently calling an exclusion and has been paid for in the past 10 years from insured benefits. No communication was sent advising me of this when my plan was amended. Why not?

If I had been aware of this then my medical aid would have been cancelled immediately however this was only advised this morning at Dis-Chem.

Which then means they are good enough to accept your monthly premium and increase it but not willing to pay for a medication which cannot be withheld.

Bankmed is required to advise their clients of any amendments such as this, with no advice, they should continue to pay. If they are not willing to co-operate, I will be in touch with their CEO to ensure that it's covered.
