Bankmed takes money from pensioner for non existent membership

My son's membership was terminated for two months thus I asked for reinstatement on 25.10. 2018. on 30.10. 2018 bankmed confirmed he will be reinstated. common sense tells you from 01.11.2018 will be effective date.

sometime in November i got a call from bankmed saying my account was in arrears and needed to be paid. i asked why and i was told its for my sons membership. i disgreed and said bankmed only sent letter to inform me of reinstatement on 30.10.2018. she told me someone will call me back but nobody contacted me. To my dismay, on 03.12.2018 my account is debited with R11,000 plus . meaning they took money for October month when he was not a member. I called them to ask them to pay me back and was told to put it in writing on 05.12.2018 and I did and told will get response in 2-5 working days but got no response. on 12.12.2018 I called and spoke to Seseto who gave no unsatisfactory answer after keeping me on hold for a while and told me if I needed refund for October then my son will be on waiting period. I told her I just need my money back. then she said she will put me through to another department and I told her they should contact me and i had already finished my airtime.

I find this to be totally unacceptable. how do you take money from a pensioners for a service which was not in force for the month? The customer service is bad. They just don't get back to you. Why have your service gotten so bad? You used to be quite good some years ago. I have been with you from 1994 and i can say you have gotten very bad.

Bankmed responded to my first publication privately but the response was unacceptable. I responded to them and told them this is unacceptable to me, on the 5th January 2019 and I have yet to hear from them. So so so frustrating! Violet

Bankmed responded to my compliant and said they will be in touch to provide me with further feedback. it has been 15 days and they still have not gotten back to me. I want my money back, if they have to put him on waiting list I don't care, I want my money back. This has carried on for months now. They have taken money (two months contributions) from my account for my sons without telling me that he was reinstated back to the scheme. Frustrated Member. Violet

Bankmed is still ignoring me. They said they will get back to me 21 days ago and upto there is no contact or reply. Six day ago I wrote complaining that they have not gotten back to me but to no avail. I need them to pay me back my money. Violet

The saga continues, bankmed are bent on not refunding my money which they took for a none existence membership for my son. Because from the 14th of January 2019, they did not get back to me. I called the call centre and spoke to Muhamed. He promised he will sort me out. He suggested a few routes I could take and I wrote to admin and stated I wanted my son's membership withdrawan and then reapply. This was the way I was going to get my refund back. I waited for any answer for the stipulated 2 days, no answer, just to say someone will look into this and get back to me. I waited to no avail. I called Muhamed again and he said someone will call me the very day or next. On the second day I got an email stating my request to withdraw my son from scheme has been declined. So I rep**** to say if they decline this option, then they must just refund me for the two months premiums they took from my account. I reminded them that I got a letter from them to put back my son on scheme on 30th October, 2018, thus my starting premiums for his membership were to start on the 1st November 2018. I also told them, that my premiums for last two months were reduced that his membership had lapsed, so upto now I do not understand their logic of backdating premiums except for the purpose enriching bankmed at the expense of members. Why is bankmed not transparent? I am sorry bankmed I want my money back. Violet
