Bankmed gambling with oncology patients lives.
Awaiting oncology treatment plan, additional authorization for 3 additional months treatment. First authorization took Bankmed 2 months to obtain. In the two months my spouse did not receive any treatment for the metastatic melanoma, and no scan was done prior to the start of the treatment. For two months the cancer was left untreated and unmanaged. The approval for additional treatment would be done on the basis that they could see a positive immune response, yet in the period between 23 January and 13 March my spouse developed a brain metastasis that was not picked up in the PET scan done in January. Now again we requested this request to be marked as urgent, as this is a time sensitive matter, there can not be a break in between the treatment cycles, this was submitted last week Monday, yet no urgency has been app****, the request is still lying with the medical review team, as per the case manager. Bankmed is playing a gamble with my spouses life. If this treatment is not approve, or approved too late then there is nothing else that can be given to treat the melanoma. If the treatment is not given on Wednesday this week then it would be as we are starting anew, and I can guarantee that Bankmed will not approve further treatment. I logged this with ********** today. Still no response.
