BANKMED DAY LIGHT *******

I asked for pre-authorisation to check into hospital for a Gastronopy and Colonoscopy. This was for a hospital that is on the contracted list for Bankmed. And when they received the bill for the Anaesthetist then half the amount was deducted of my savings account. Apparently the Anaesthetist is not on their contracted list and as such they will charge me. What I do not understand is that there is no way one can choose which Anaesthetist is working with your General Surgeon. And then I speak to a call centre manager called Desiree Mtambeka (Call Centre Manager) and she tells me that while being wheeled into surgery I should have negotiated a rate with the Anaesthetist. I mean how do you negotiate on the surgical table for a better rate in terms of the bill. Is that not they whole point of going to a Hospital in a Bankmed network - That all costs while you're admitted are taken care off.
