ANGRY AND DISGUSTED MEMBER (PATIENT)

The Medical aid company has provided disgusting and unacceptable service to me the member and the service provider. Last year in February 2018 I was diagnosed with Cancer. I went for check up at 2 specialist and eventual a family friend referred us to the Oncologists in the Wits Donald Gordon private hospital. After thorough check up and ALL the necessary scans, the Radiation specialist referred me to the Maxillo Facial and Dental surgeon. The reason for that was that the dental surgeon check my oral health and extract any teeth that needed to removed to prepare for Radiation therapy. I went for operation at Morning clinic and hospital was paid accordingly but the Maxillo Facial and Dental surgeon has not been since last year April. Yesterday I received notification that the specialist will be paid only R7 918.40 out of the full claim of R23 455.75. The person is expected to register onto the Oncology programme so that all the Cancer related claims will be paid from the pool of Insured benefit in the Oncology programme. Now I am told that I am suppose to pay the specialist the difference of R15 485.75 after I have been sending emails and calling the Bankmed to settle this bill.

I am not happy with the service rendered I requested the Case manager to contact me and service provider up until today no apology or call was made to me or the service Provider.

I need Bankmed to settle the bill as I am registered on the Oncology Programme as we speak I ma still on remission and attending check up. I have had numerous problems where even the blood tests were not paid.

I am utterly angry and disgusted with the service Bankmed offers to its members.
