Be careful - invoice is more than quote
Quoted R400/ h, I approved repairs. Invoice showed 2x the anticipated time. The repair is good and my speaker works again. No issue here.
I managed to get him to deduct the R600 he charged me for the plate required for my repair which was salvaged from the about to be s****ped speaker.
On querying the invoice charge, assessment per hour was R500/h and repair work was billed at R495. This differed from the R400/ h charge I was billed when quoted. His response?
1. I said ABOUT R400/ h.
2. I can amend my pricing as I see fit EVEN AFTER quoting without customer approval.
3. My assessment fee and repair fees are not the same. I don't have to tell customers that.
4. I have no need to have a pricing schedule.
5. My technician made a mistake - It was supposed to be three hours.
6. It was Saturday and I was tired, I just made the R400/ h up and felt that I needed to make more money as this is an old product.
7. Don't complain - you got good service and your speaker is working.
8. You are lucky I fixed it.
9. I don't need to apologise or refund the overcharge - its only R400. Its not - the difference is R600. And ethically, charging more than quoted without approval is *****ING.
