Transfer & Occupational Rent

<p>I signed for purchase of a Balwin development unit in April 2016, with occupation date of June 2016. We are now in September, and my property transfer has still not taken place. The level of service/response ive received from the attorneys has been terrible</p> <p>Each time ive asked Balwin and the Tonkin Clacey attorneys what is taking so long to get my apartment registered, their response is 'waiting documentation from the council'. They have been telling me this for 3 months now. I have always been understanding to the fact that there may be delays at the deeds office, but 4 months later, the level of service i get is appaling. there seems to be no concern given to buyers when it comes to the rush of not wanting to pay occupational rent for 5 months on a property which im supposed to be the owner on?? Another thing is, i placed a sizeable deposit on my property, of which balwin gets the interest on, however they still feel its right to charge me occ rent on the full purchase price of the property? i dont see how that is fair.</p> <p>From what i see, I believe my registration has been delayed as balwin/attorneys tried to sell of a 'batch' of units before they even approached the deeds office for the first time. they are now offering 20k furniture voucher to buyers who purchase units now, (a bit of a slap in the face to those of us who purchased ealier and have been paying rent for 4/5months). It is extremely unfair that Balwin released these units for sales before they had all there paperwork from the council in order. This just means that someone who purchases later has less risk of this happening.</p> <p> </p> <p>I was always a fan of balwin when growing up and saw myself investing in a good number of their apartments during my life, but as this is the experience ive had on my first apartment i can assure i will not be investing any further in the company.</p> <p> </p> <p>Yes, i am just a unit number to the company, but to me its a life long investment and having my concerns swept under the carpet for so long has been nothing less than unprofessional.</p>
