Kikuyu - Meerkat Utilities
I’ve been one of the first owners / inhabitants and current owner at Balwin's Kikuyu Estate for almost 4 years. Living in a 1 bedroom, single, with no kids, my utilities bill was a stable R500 every month FOR YEARS. With the new supplier Balwin tendered at the start of 2022 called Meerkat Utilities – practically overnight my bill went from R500 to almost R1500 per month and counting.
Even with the rise of Eskom and Global energy prices, these numbers do not add up.
Meerkat Utilities is ******* and their billing is inconsistent. Balwin is doing nothing to address our concerns. I urge anyone looking to invest or move in at Kikuyu/or a Balwin property to make sure, unless you are willing to double or triple your electricity bill!
