Avoid Kikuyu Estate

I don't know what's worse:

- Still paying for electricity via our supplier, Meerkat Utilities, when the complex transformer has burned down leaving ZERO electricity feeding into the complex for 4 days. When asked about why my wallet was deducted on these ZERO POWER days, I was told that it was a deduction from previous days when we had electricity running (ABSOLUTE LIES!).

- Multiple AirBnB units in our private residential building, constantly seeing random people who are often loud, rude, publicly intoxicated and partying it up until early morning hours. Complete disrespect for permanent residents. I'm always anxious during weekends and public holidays - on these days the AirBnB's become WORSE.

- Regular water cuts. If it's not low pressure it's no pressure. I've lived with back-up 5L water canisters in my apartment for 3 years.

- The Lifestyle Centre: Once pristine, now just a hangout spot for anyone and their 500 friends to come over get drunk and smoke ****. The security gate into the Centre hardly ever works, anyone can freely walk in.

- Unhelpful security. When complaining about AirBnB disturbances, there's almost never anyone taking action to shut the noise down.

- Body Corporate that could really care less about issues and overall complex degradation.

- Kikuyu Montesorri daycare traffic. Enough said.

Not everyone can just easily pack-up and leave to a new place. Some of us have no financial option but to hunker down and deal with all of this nonsense.

Balwin was once a luxury brand. It's sadly gone backwards in the last few years. Take it from me as a resident, save your money + sanity and invest ELSEWHERE!
