Waiting 3 months for order! Poor Service - Dischem Baby City Kenilworth

On the 28th September 2023, I ordered the Snuggletime Pop Up Bath Tub and Stand - Grey - Combo Set along with a bunch of other items during the magical sale campaign. Upon ordering, I decided to place a second order as items were really cost effective. When the second order arrived before the first I called the contact centre, who put me through to the Kenilworth Centre branch. They informed me that a few items were out of stock, and that there would be a delay, of which they couldnt confirm how long it would take. After 2 weeks I followed up and was informed that they are having issues with the supplier. Firstly, why would you run a sale on an item you dont have stock of and be unable fulfil the customers orders? Secondly why is it the customers job to follow up constantly? After I received the first update, I was contacted by the store in October letting me know that they contacted the supplier. They received stock of the bath and was able to send this to me, however no stock of the stand yet, and that they will only be getting the stock from the supplier on the 15th December and would I be willing to wait. I agreed to wait on the condition that they assured me it would be delivered to me once they receive the stock. At 10am on the 15th December, I contacted the store to check in and was told that they still have not received the stock and that it would only come on Monday 18th December and I can expect delivery anytime this week. I am utterly shocked at Dischem and Baby city's service and lack of ability to fulfil customer orders. Previous orders have also been cancelled or delayed due to stock issues. What is the point of ordering online if they end up shopping at the nearest store to you? The frustrating part is that they just expect you to accept this poor service and make you wait MONTHS, MONTHS!! It's nearly been 3 months and they are unable to fulfil my order. I was told I would get it by the 15th, only to be told after I had to follow up that I should wait even longer. Its really pathetic and the fact that they not even willing to compensate you for the inconvenience caused. My child is expected to arrive any day now and I could have had my bath and stand ages ago if I purchased it through another company/store.

There was also a whole other issue with the infamous baby bag. After making the over R1000 purchase, besides the online shopping, I was advised I would receive it once I reached 20 weeks. I only received the damn bag at 32 weeks when I went into the Kenilworth store to complain that I still never received the SMS. They questioned whether I even qualified because my name was not on their old school book of people who qualified, after spending thousands at Baby city already!! When I got the bag, it was sealed but after seeing a bunch of tiktoks of other moms receiving dypers, pacifiers, dove soap, cotton buds, and breast pads etc I went back to the store and said I didnt receive the same items as what was promised to me from the store and what I saw online and all they said was there was nothing they could do about it as they dont pack the bags. I get that but why is there a lack of consistency? It's not even worth the amount you are spending and it's just a bunch of cheap samples.

I really think that this is the most ridiculous and pathetic experience and I will no longer be supporting Baby City / Dischem any longer. I will rather take my business to Clicks or any other brands. I am utterly disappointed at the entire experience and that they failed to offer any sore of compensation for the inconvenience caused. I understand that there are delays with orders from time to time and that certain things are not in your control but do better!! People spend their hard earned money at Dischem only to be treated poorly and suffer from poor quality service.
