Refused to help with faulty item

My wife and I purchased a "Safety 1st" infra-red thermometer (among many other things) at the baby expo last year. We were told very specifically to put the "warranty sticker" on the product so they can assist us if anything goes wrong.

I did so immediately when we got home and unboxed it. After a couple of uses, however, we noticed that the temperature is constanty 2-3 degrees above the actual temperature. We tested this on our child, both of us and my child's bathwater, using an oral thermometer to compare.

I took the item to the Baby City store in Park meadows where they said they would take it in and feedback to us once the rep had visited the store, More than a month later with no feedback we went to the store to purchase some new bottles and follow up on the thermometer.

We were told that without proof of purchase (we could not find the receipt from the baby expo) the rep will not assist us in any way. What is the point of giving out "warranty stickers" if you won't even attempt to assist without proof of purchase.

Reviewer Update

I was contacted by Beverley from Baby City a few hours after posting this review. She went above and beyond to find a copy of our receipt on their system and arrange a replacement unit. Outstanding response. Thank you Beverley!!!
