Poor service and bad attitude towards customers

I did my gift registry at Babycity about 3 weeks ago. This weekend I had my babyshower and I received very few items from my Babycity gift registry. My sister in law had been into the Pavilion branch the week prior to specifically buy an item for me. This item had been crossed off my list as sold. In fact a number of items had been crossed off my list, and when she enquired with the staff she was told that they had been purchased already. On Sunday we went to the store to return the gift from my sister in law and enquired what happened. We were met with excuses and defensive behaviour from the staff and the Manager on duty. Apparently items were marked off because of stock take and no one knew why my sister in law was told the items had been purchased. Whilst in the store, 3 other ladies came in to complain about the same issue. Yesterday I contacted the head office. The MD Alice Rosen was just as unhelpful and un-empathetic as the staff. I am now 4 weeks before due date and do not have the essentials I need for the baby. There has been no remedy offered by Babycity and they are persisting that the circumstances are out of their control.
