NO REFUND OPTION

I purchased a gate from Baby City on the 29th January. The gate did not fit the area I wanted, so on Monday 1st February I returned it in it's original packing, price still on and the receipt. Management there said it's the company's policy to not refund, instead exchange or vouchers. I bought a gate - not a pair of underwear. I find Baby City company's policy to be absurd. I would love to know my rights as a consumer.
