Dishonest advertising

On 02/11/2022 I reacted on an online catalogue adverti*****t by Baby City, selling a "Joie Everystage FX car seat" for R 4 499.99, visiting their outlet in Vanderbijlpark. On display the also had a banner advertising thus car seat for the same price. When I wanted to buy this product, I was told that they do not have it in stock, and that I can buy the normal Joie Everystage seat, without the "Isofix" safety measure, for the same price. I insisted on the advertised item, but was met by reluctance, and even aggression by the salesman. I spoke to the store manager, but my request was met with the same reluctance. I was informed that this is a (?blatant) wrong adverti*****t, and the matter will be resolved by Head office, with an apology (sic). On 06/11/2022 I visited three different Baby City outlets in Johannesburg, my efforts to buy this advertised product being met with the same reluctance, and aggression in two stores, but the adverti*****ts being still the same in online catalogues, as well is on instore banners. Is this company policy, to wrongfully advertise a product, just to lure consumers into their outlets, and then treat them as badly as I have been treated? This whole experience placed a damper on our excitement as first time Grandparents, wanting to buy the best for our future grandchild! Consumers should be aware of this blatant exploitation by companies, just to lure you into their outlets, hoping emotion will overcome you, to buy lower quality products at prices advertised for top of the range items!
