Disgusting Customer Service from Manager Yonela

I bought a chest of drawer that’s currently on Black Friday special on Thursday 28/11/24 at Baby City Cradlestone and I arranged for collection on Friday 29/11/24. When opening item at home it looked used and old plus there was a box written item is used. I opted to go in store today on Saturday 30/11/24 and asked to speak to a Manager, a lady by the name Yonela asked what the issue was as she was the manager on duty. As I started explaining that the item looks damaged and old plus there is a sign written on the cover box that the item is old, I went as far as trying to show her the picture's I took of the item on my phone she was very dismissive and disinterested she said “that’s how the items are” and there is nothing she can do I should return on Monday the actual Manager will deal with the issue.

The whole entire time she spoke in Zulu/Xhosa and I said to her can we speak in English as I’m not fluent in the language plus she is not coming up with solutions nor answering or listening to any of my questions I had and felt maybe there was a communication issue as I speak Setswana and English, she rudely rep**** and said “she doesn’t know nor speak English”, mind you as I walked in she was assisting a white lady in English. She gave me a *** number to call not sure why as I needed to know if they can swap the item for a new/not damaged item at sale price or if I can get my money back but she said she can not assist I must wait for Monday.

Tsholo came in and asked if I’m okay and what the issue was she actually listened to understand, understood my concerns and explained where she could however she is not a Manager so she couldn’t help but she deserves to be a Manager.

Yonela is so rude, does not listen to issues nor come up with solutions as a “Manager”. If the Cradlestone branch cameras have sound this is a chance to hear how she deals with issues before you lose more clients.

I’ll wait for my issue to get resolved then I’m done with this branch!
