DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

I purchased a cot and bath compactum along with other items at Baby City Northgate. The sales consultant that assisted me, advised me that we can return the items a long as it was in its original packaging and i had proof of purchase. I was NOT informed that that meant I would get a gift voucher instead of my money bac****

I live 2 hours away from the nearest Baby City, and work on the weekends. I called Northgate branch to inform them that I would be coming though this weekend to return the cot an bath compactum. At first I was told they don't do returns, and then later told I would get a gift card if the items were could be re-sold.

I also spole to Roshni and Alice from Head Office who refused to give me a full refund. I do not need R5000 on a gift card! I need my money back to purchase other items that I might need!!! I was also advised by Alice to drive every month to Baby City to purchase items with the gift card. I will not travel 4 hours with a new born to go to Baby City and back! It's so easy and quick to take from Customers, however giving back seems to be a problem!

If I was told that the policy for a refund was a gift voucher, I would never ever have purchased any items from BABY CITY!! Inform your customers properly.
