Compromised Hygiene - Maternal Wear
<p>To whom it may concern.</p> <p> </p> <p>On the 23rd of October 2016, I purchased a variety of items at Baby City Centurion for our baby which is due on the 25th of November 2016. Upon my fiancé unpacking the items and preparing in packing her maternity bag for the hospital she noticed I had purchased the incorrect maternity belt (Silver Guard Maternity Belt).</p> <p> </p> <p>My fiancé and I went the Baby City in Olympus in Pretoria East today (15 November 2016), and we were assisted by one of the managers Sarah, I was told that the policy on these items of clothing did not allow for an exchange to take place due the type of clothing item and hygiene purpose. I explained that we has not opened the pack and it was still in its original plastic bag in the box. Sarah called the Silver Guard store rep (Lisa) and refused to accept the exchange or refund.</p> <p> </p> <p>Upon further investigation after opening the packaging, Sarah noticed that the item had make-up/smudge mark. I told her that my fiancé and I are only expecting our baby on the 25th of November and she could not have worn the maternity belt with the size of her tummy at this stage of the pregnancy.</p> <p> </p> <p>I am disturbed that</p> <p>Baby City sold us a compromised item of clothing – whether it was tried on in store or returned and placed back onto the shelf for re-selling. This is a serious reputational risk on the hygiene of the items being sold by the store.<br />Secondly, Silver Guard before finding out that the item was compromised refused to exchange it because of their “no exchange policy” even after I explained that the maternity belt had not been worn by my fiancé because we’re still waiting on delivery of the baby.<br /> </p> <p>I refused to take the Silver Guard Maternity Belt with me and left it at the store, it serves me no use as it’s the incorrect item and my fiancé will never use it. There is no use taking it back home. I hope to hear from Baby City or Sliver Gaurd, but then again…..I am just 1 disgruntled customer, made to feel dishonest and lack integrity for trying to return an item of maternity clothing/accessory.</p> <p> </p> <p>Regards</p> <p>Tutu Skosana</p> <p>Cell: ********** 399</p> <p> </p>
