Refusal to refund items.
On the 27/02/2015 my mother purchased (cash) two camp cots at Baby Boom in Polokwane for my unborn twins unknown to her that I had already purchased the items some time back in another store. On the 14/03/2015 I went to their branch in Wonderboom(Pretoria) and I was informed I could not get cash for the items instead the cash would be credited into a gift card. The policy simply forces me the consumer to make future business transactions with them even thou that is not best situation for me the consumer.

I then called their Head Office on the number given *** and I spoke a lady named Amara who basically informed me that they could not give me cash of R2000.00 instead the amount would be put into a gift card which I could use for nappies, I have already purchased cloth nappies which are not cheap and I am being forced to purchase disposable nappies from their store, and their nearest store is not nearby for me add travelling expenses.

I have seen this trend slowly being utilised by the stores to pressure the consumer/customer to opt for a gift card rather than cash.
