I had my baby in Aug and discovered that the original arrangement for my salary wasn't honoured in Sept

I contacted Cindy from Baby benefits Uif and she refered me to Karin for assistance.

At first they charged me R695 to send me a power of attourny letter and uif documents to be submitted electronicly.

Then Karin contacted the uif office and informed me that I'm not registred (which I was as my employer trade as...).

She informed me that a manual claim needed to be submitted and she needs a certified copy of my maragge certificate, id, baby's birth certificate and a payslip as well as forms from my employer and gynea.

I send all of the documents, never got a response back.

I emailed Cindy 2x complaining about the bad service. She rep**** that they are very busy and that Karin got confused with me sending emails from 2 adresses and with my married and ****en surname.

After 2 months of getting no where and having to courier the documents to them for another R100, I went to uif offices myself.

1.5 hours later, everything is sorted. No need for any certified copies, Baby benefits was yet again wasting my time.

I phoned Cindy, politely refering to my refund email which she ignored.

She told me "You chose to use our company, no refunds as we send you documents and spend many hours on your claim"

I was furious, even though I stayed polite, Cindy was rude.

If I went to the uif offices myself, I would have gotten better, friendlier service and they would have paid me already.

Please be warned, Baby Benefits uif is not as userfriendly as they advertised to be!
