BA TRANSFERALS/COUNTRY WIDE SA ************S

This complain is about BA Transferals owned by Billy Lightfoot. Another name used is COUNTRY WIDE SA. My mom is a retired domestic worker who decided to leave Cape Town and move back to her home province of the Free State at the end of 2024. Considering that she needed to move furniture and other property she’s bought and collected over a 24-year period, she needed the help of a moving company and her former employer enlisted the services of BILLY LIGHTFOOT and confirmed the booking with COUNTRY WIDE SA.

The load was collected on December 20, 2024 and Billy said it would arrive December 22nd. December 22nd would passed and my mom started to worry and inquire about the whereabouts and ETA for her things and Billy only responded on WhatsApp by saying it’s a “share load.” When I contacted Country Wide SA on WhatsApp on December 31st asking for an ETA, I was informed that it was a shared load and that the company usually tries to fill their truck first. At this point, the 7 days it takes to receive a delivery that’s part of a share load (according to their booking confirmation) had passed. The Country Wide SA WhatsApp account said they’d try and get an ETA but I never heard back.

On the evening of December 31st, 2024, Billy sent messages to my moms former employers asking for the “pin location” for drop off as the load was arriving the next day. They contacted me and the location pin was sent to Billy using my mom’s phone.

On January 1st, 2025, at 19:16, I received a text from Billy saying, “ The truck will be outside soon.” My family and I waited and waited and finally heard from my mom’s former employers that Billy was asking for extra money because my mom had too much stuff. They had agreed to pay it only after Billy arrived at the drop off point and we saw the things in the truck.

Around 21:00 Billy was now telling them that the place is unsafe and the driver is unwilling to drive there. I then contacted Billy asking for the location of the truck and the contact details of the driver. He kept saying that the driver was waiting in the same spot but wouldn’t tell me where and wouldn’t give me contact information. I said that we could meet them and escort them to our location with the police if they felt unsafe and I asked for the location of the truck MULTIPLE TIMES. I asked for a location pin (because WE were asked for one the night before) and Billy just kept talking about extra money and then said we should pay money into the account he provided if we wanted the things to be delivered. He then told us the people had been waiting in the same spot for 45 minutes and were now leaving and that he’d re-invoice my mom’s former employer R9000 for “re-delivery.” Every time I sent a voice note asking where the truck was and for the contact details for the driver(s), he’d tell me they need money or they’re leaving.

We’ve opened a case against Billy because we are still waiting for my mother’s things. I do not believe these people were EVER in the Free State, let alone ANYWHERE near our location. I think he was doing everything he can to try and get more money out of my mother’s employers. This man is a ****mer and he is a narcissist who tries to gaslight his clients when confronted. Complaining is not enough, if he’s ****med you, go to the police so he can be on record for the ******** he is.
