A Nightmare Experience
I cannot stress enough how devastating and chaotic our experience with BA Transferals has been. The owner, Billy Lightfoot, and his staff member, Zoe, relentlessly phoned me to accept their quote. They contacted me multiple times, sent photos of their trucks, screenshots of happy customer WhatsApp messages, and even pictures of Billy and his son being interviewed on a radio station. All to build trust.
After seeing all this supposed “evidence” and going against my better judgement after reading the Google reviews, I accepted their quote and paid a R15,000 deposit. Weeks went by, and I had to chase them just to send me their inventory list so I could complete it. This was two days before the move.
On the day the truck was supposed to arrive, Billy sent a small 4-ton truck instead of the large interlink truck I had booked for our four-bedroom house. What followed were endless excuses: Billy was “sick" and delegated things to Zoe and their truck was being fixed.
If you want to wake up on moving day and have your life turn into chaos then give your money to BA Transferals.
We lost thousands of Rands on pre-booked accommodation for our trip.We had to pay for last-minute accommodation and hire another truck at a higher cost. It has now been 7 days since we arrived in Cape Town only to sit in an empty house without our furniture, clothing, or basic toiletries.
One of the worst parts for me is that I had referred my friend to them, and exactly the same thing happened to them. They also paid Billy a deposit of R12,000 and their truck never arrived on the Sunday after ours, all with the same excuses.
After speaking to other furniture removal companies, I learned that BA Transferals has over 20 cases of ***** against them. Billy said he would pay us back by the 6th of December, it is now the 8th. And, even if he paid us back, the loss and devastation we have experienced so far cannot be fixed.
Do yourself a favour and read the other reviews. There is a reason for a (current 2.8) Google rating. It is there to help people from falling prey to companies like this. Don't fall for the one or two good reviews. If you want to experience complete chaos, this is the company for you. They are unreliable, unprofessional, and *************. This has been one of the most traumatic experiences of our lives, and I hope this review prevents others from making the same mistake.
