Clueless and Dishonorable

This company have not a clue of what they are doing and have not made right on their poor recommendations. After 2 months of use our outdoor lounger cushion fabric had faded terribly and the studded buttons had shown bad rust marks. After 6 years of wear and tear we contacted B Comfy Deco in Aug 2020 to recover 6 outdoor lounger cushions for our boutique hotel. We discussed using the current fabric being Colonade range and were quoted R1250 per cushion. As per WhatsApp messages, the Colonade was out of stock and suggested “ Bahamas fabric, R1000 per cushion, as it is the mold/water resistant/treated fabric”. We messaged back “Please let me know if there is some kind of guarantee on the fabric/work. We used a fabric at one stage that lasted half as long as the original Colonade fabric did” They messaged back after securing the Bahamas material “It will definitely not show the dirt and dust as much” This is what was recommended as an outdoor range. After 2 months of use, as per reasons above, we contacted the company and they said they had used the wrong material for the inside of the button, must have been tin or similar. Then the back tracking started. The representative said he had advised us to purchase covers for our cushions which aesthetically made no sense to us at the time. Not once was it mentioned that the material being used was not uv resistant. If he had said those 2 words we would have stopped immediately. How possibly can he recommend a non uv resistant material for an outdoor application, and then advise us we need to purchase further protective covers which made no logical sense. Was he concerned about dust or rain? We are perfectly capable of scrubbing our cushions clean if dusty. The cushions were picked up and 5 months later returned with only the buttons fixed. We were told that the company had tried every avenue to get the manufacturer to replace the material but failed. We reasoned with them to get a quote for material only and to come to the party as a last result. We received a quote double the original invoice and the best they could do was a 10% discount. We now sit with an inferior faded product that we paid R6000 for.
