Had to get a lawyer involved to get them to pay for medical expenses that we had in the US. Stay away from Europe Assistance.

<p>Extremely bad. My son had a single episode of depression and the psychiatrist wrote that he had a single one-time episode of depression with a pre-existing condition. Europe Assistance did not accept the doctor's decision and decided not to reimburse us because they said he had an anxiety disorder which was never mentioned in the report. My son had never been diagnosed with anxiety disorder. He is in medical school and very stable. The doctor sent a second report to them emphasizing that his condition was not pre-existing and once again they denied his claim. We lost $500 because of their unfairness. Here is the reply from the doctor and consequently the reply from Europe Assistance who did everything to unjustly deny the claim so they would not have to pay. RIPP-OFF STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. </p> <p>I met with Christopher and he did not want a copy of the original report. I communicated with Europ-Assistance via e-mail regarding their pre-existing condition denial detailing in that email where in Dr. McLain's note he specifically noted that this was the first time Christopher had experienced the symptoms for which he is being treated. I noted that any reference to other symptoms was merely a part of Christopher's history and were not symptoms for which Dr. McLain is currently treating Christopher. I received the following response from Europ-Assistance:<br /> <br />Dear Mme Elder</p> <p>Our head of the medical department re-evaluated your request, but we are keeping the same position in this file.</p> <p>We are not going to cover the medical costs or organize further assistance since the subscriber was also treated in the past for an anxiety disorder.</p> <p>Kindest regards,</p> <p>Sam Lambrecht<br />Operations coordinator<br />Europ Assistance<br /> <br />As you can see by their response, they are not willing to work with us any further on the issue. In my opinion they are not correct in ruling this a pre-existing condition.
