False Advertising

I saw a Huawei Honor 9x cellphone on their website at price of R571.98. I tried to phone them a couple of times to get more info about the cellphone because the price seemed too good to be true and I didn't want to miss out of this "great deal". No one was answering the telephone number on their website and so I decided to send them a WhatsApp message since there was also that option. I asked them if that was a new phone or a refurbished phone since the price was cheap for that model. They came back to me a day later to say that price was before the update, which at that stage they had changed the price on their website to R 3,999.00. That was a huge jump from the R571.98 price was advertised on their website, which I saw it there 2 days before I contacted them. Who know how long the price was there. I mean I was ready to buy the phone but had to be sure what I was getting was a new phone or a refurbished phone.

To me this was false advertising. It may be in the company's best interest to honor the advertised price rather than anger so many potential customers.
