Poor service and feedback
I would like to share some feedback regarding my recent car rental experience.
On 27 April 2025, I picked up a rental vehicle from King Shaka International Airport. Upon arrival, I was directed to the parking bay where the car was located. A lady eventually came to assist and conducted a brief inspection. She carried the inspection form and walked from the back passenger side to the front, asking if I noticed anything. As I had just arrived from a long flight, I was quite tired and only gave the car a quick once-over without focusing on any specific details.
When I returned the vehicle on 28 April 2025, a staff member immediately approached the car and quickly identified a dent on the boot lid as if he knew it was there and we were still getting out and unloading our luggage. He mentioned that it would be noted for investigation purposes. I was informed that no payment was required, and I also provided a written statement at that time.
If, after your internal investigation, the company determines that the damage is my responsibility, please feel free to deduct the R1460.87 from my deposit. I there after got a reply fromAyanda Mbude stating
Thank you for your email, your comments noted, and damage enquiry was escalated and fully investigated including collection and when returning with damage.
All our vehicles are pre-inspected, and our fair wear tear are recorded on our legal quality documents and device.
We also have a specific procedure in place, which we follow a guideline regarding fair, wear and tear scratches, dents and chips or anything similar.
If the damage does not meet the guidelines, this is then seen as chargeable.
I have gone through all previous records on MDMS (MOBILE DAMAGE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM) on which the damage was not noted and would not have been sent out for rent if the damage was there prior to the rental.
In this case this vehicle was issued to you and was accepted new with no fair wear tear noted as per your signed rental agreement number E***.
Although you are not aware of the damages, the damage to your rental car had to occur whilst in your possession rental.
It is unfortunate that you are billed for the damage that is not noted.
Considering the above, the damage charge unfortunately will remain.
I then sent an email to ask if the money can taken off from my deposit, which now amounted to R1800, I have sent an email for follow of my remainder of the deposit and have not heard back since.
I will not recommend this rental service to family or friends Regards Miss soobramoney ***
