Awaiting refund on deposit

Rental period from 23/10 to 15/11. Car returned on time. Unfortunately, it suffered some minimal damage due to hail storm on my way home from work. Invoice received to pay cost of damages, and I requested that they deduct my deposit from the invoice and will settle the balance. They refused to do so claiming that I will receive the deposit back as do not bank it. I played hard ball too was later referred to collectors for not paying the invoice, and currently making payments to those collectors.

I have been fighting for over two years now for the refund on the deposit due to me. Thanks to Nobuhle who eventually was the only person to escalate this matter to a Cash Controller, by the name of Mita, who requested an authorisation code for the transaction only to dismiss me later, I recieved an authorization code from my bank for a transaction of the deposit made on the 23rd of October 2023 at 10:13 using my virtual card. The transaction was for R2000 at Avis budget Rental.

They needed the code to release my long overdue deposit which apparently they have not banked.

I have supp**** them with the Authorisation but they advised i need to check my bank account as the Auth code is valid for 30 days and the one supp**** has now expired. With that said, they are claiming that the funds have been released back into my account and it usually does not notify the credit, but will show an increase of funds on my bank account. I have to say that i did not see any increase of those funds, and went through my statements from Dec'23 to Jan'24.

I am not as ******** or have millions in my account to not notice the an increase on my bank balance.

When you ask for proof of the release from their end, they do not respond! I have been in communication with my bank and there is no trace of the deposit back into my account from Avis.

****** 2 years ? Disgusted by this kind of service. I will be writing on every single review site of this ******* service until I receive my money back. Absolutely notorious for not returning people’s deposits! Every single complain here is regarding outstanding deposits.

Imagine being told you must have already used the funds by now without realising?! Tf?!
