Avis Budget Cape Town Int Airport **** with useless national customer care call centre
AVIS BUDGET ****, clear *******ion and condonement of *******ion from branch level to Customer Service. I booked a car online for R4770, collected the car on the date/time booked, suddenly the rental agreement says R10527.03. They take your booking reference number, give you the car you requested but charge you double without even notifying you. You are made to sign on a small screen without getting to read any changes made on the big screen. Oh the changes include them charging you underage surge for being a driver under 25yrs even though you've presented your license that clearly shows you're over 30 years of age. Well that's how the CAPE TOWN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT BRANCH does things. Then you report this to their customer service. They inform you that you should be getting a refund but the branch needs to let them know how much they should refund you... the obvious difference R10527.03 - R4770?? Then the CUSTOMER CARE agent tells you that he can't reach the branch and therefore will not be able to process your refund. It's almost a full 3 MONTHS now where customer care call centre can't reach the Cape Town Branch. Oh, authorization hold was a whole R13k that they held until I contacted the financial services department to release. Got some change but they've kept my R10527,03. Interest is pilling up on the amount they took from my credit card but who cares, certainly not them. I'm furious because I've used Avis before, multiple times and never thought I'd encounter such from them.
