What customer service?
On the Sunday 6th Oct I rented a car from Avis at the airport.
Drove from Brynaston to Centurion on Monday and noticed that after a while the front brakes were making a screeching noise.
On Tuesday it was worse so I called the breakdown service who advised me to take the car to the nearest branch and swop it. We agreed Rosebank Hyatt.
I told the breakdown people I would only be able to do this on Thursday. Not sure why they didn’t offer to bring a replacement.
Didn’t drive the car on Wednesday.
Took it to Rosebank and on return inspection their inspector found a rough scratch under the front bumper. I didn’t see it when I took the car on and he used a cellphone light to find it.
I was billed R1500.00 for the damage repair. I did not cause the damage but neither did I spot it before taking the car. In future will pack an overall gloves and spotlight.
The R1500 is not the issue what is that having made numerous complaints to Avis I have not received any apology for them having supp**** a substandard vehicle in the first place. All comms focussed on the damage to the underside of the bumper.
I didn’t damage the car, have had to accept the charge as Avis simply take it off your credit card.
I am a Preferred plus Avis customer who has loyally supported Avis for more than 30 years.
After this experience I will never use them again, will let British Airways know as the car came through them and will notify the major South African Corporate who are affiliated to Avis of the lack of customer support.
I hope you have the R1500 well invested as failure to communicate effectively with me on this issue will undoubtedly cost a little more
